Mickey Mouse ears at the ready! Disney on Ice is returning to Birmingham later this month.

Disney on Ice Presents Road Trip Adventures will whisk families on an 'immersive getaway full of magical participatory moments'. You can expect high-flying acrobatics and up-close character interactions, alongside world-class skating.

The production is set to feature classic and new Disney tales, including Moana, Mary Poppins Returns, The Lion King, Toy Story 4, Incredibles 2, Aladdin, Frozen and more - all in one ice show!

There are still some tickets left for the bumper 16 shows across eight days at Birmingham's Utilita Arena, so if you're looking to pick some up last minute, now is your chance! But if you've already had your tickets for months, here's everything you need to know.

When is Disney on Ice in Birmingham?

Disney on Ice Presents Road Trip Adventures is coming to Birmingham's Utilita Arena in October and November 2024! There will be 16 shows across eight days between Wednesday, October 30, and Sunday, November 10.

Where to buy tickets?

Utilita Arena's ticket partner AXS is still showing tickets available for most of the Disney on Ice shows. Tickets start from £19.50 up to £75.90, including fees. Weekend shows are more expensive than weekday, from what we have seen. Some dates also still have VIP offers still available from £115.

Ticketmaster is also showing some availability for the Birmingham shows - including a number of resale tickets.

Performance times

Utilita Arena has yet to publish the exact performance times on their website, so we will update you as soon as we know more. However, the following door opening times are to be expected:

  • For shows starting at 10.30am - doors are expected to open at 9.30am
  • For shows starting at 2.30pm - doors are expected to open at 1.30pm
  • For shows starting at 6.30pm - doors are expected to open at 5.30pm
  • For shows starting at 7pm - doors are expected to open at 6pm

Event details on the Utilita Arena Birmingham website states: "Disney on Ice Presents Road Trip Adventures skates into Birmingham this winter! Prepare for a fun-filled excursion to iconic Disney destinations, as Disney On Ice returns, debuting a new tour for the first time in Europe.

"Hit the road to adventure when Disney On Ice presents Road Trip Adventures skates into your hometown! Exciting twists and turns await as Mickey Mouse and his Disney friends embark on a wild ride to your favourite Disney destinations.

"'Trip a Little Light Fantastic' with Mary Poppins, travel with Moana to the sun soaked Motunui, set off on a safari to the Pride Lands with Simba. Discover a whole new world as you’re swept up in Aladdin’s princely parade.

"Play at a larger-than-life carnival with Woody and Forky. Join us for a fun-filled getaway, jam-packed with unexpected hijinks and magic at every turn at Disney on Ice Presents Road Trip Adventures."

Age limits

For Disney on Ice, there is a number of age limits set by the arena. For seated tickets, anyone aged under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult aged over 18 years old with a valid ticket, into the venue.

Those aged 14 and over can come into Utilita Arena Birmingham on their own with a valid ticket, the arena's website states.

Children under the age of two are free if they sit on a parent's lap. All children aged two years old and over must have a valid ticket.

Bags policy

Utilita Arena says it is 'best for everyone if you don't bring a bag at all'. Should you choose to take a bag, you can only take one and it has to be no larger than an A4 sheet of paper, according to the criteria. That is 21cm by 30cm by 19cm, and it must only have a maximum of two compartments.

Rucksacks are not allowed. If you have no other option than to bring a large bag, there is a bag store costing £15 per item payable by card and phone only.

Due to the nature of the show however, Utilita Arena has stated online that families can bring one changing bag per family. They added: "Where possible, please bring one bag only."

How to get to Utilita Arena Birmingham

The postcode for Utilita Arena is B1 2AA. The arena falls within Birmingham’s Clean Air Zone so you may need to pay to drive in the city centre depending on your car.

Parking at Utilita Arena Birmingham

The Utilita Arena has multiple car parks, visitors can park in the North and South car park, while hospitality and pre-booked customers can park in the West. There is accessible parking on level nine, near entrance G.

You can pre-book parking online. When we looked a few days ahead of Disney on Ice, it was showing pre-booked parking for some dates was still available for £15. This tends to be booked up quickly though - and the price may increase closer to the date. Some dates however were already sold out.

Other nearby car parks include Q-Park at Brindleyplace (B1 2JF) a seven minute walk from Utilita Arena. You could also park at the Euro Car Parks at Five Ways (B15 1DB) which is a 17 minute walk from the arena.

How to get to Utilita Arena Birmingham by public transport

The Utilita Arena is located in Birmingham city centre and easily accessible using the trains, buses and West Midlands Metro. The arena is located a short walk from Birmingham New Street, Birmingham Moor Street, Birmingham Snow Hill and Five Ways train stations.

Buses run past the arena all day everyday, you can find the best bus for you online. The nearest West Midlands Metro stops to the Utilita Arena are either Brindleyplace or Library Centenary Square.

What items are banned at Utilita Arena?

According to the Utilita Arena website, you cannot take in the following items: hot food, alcohol, glass bottles, cans, flasks, cool boxes, hampers, large flags/banners, helium balloons, studded belts, dog collars, trouser chains, selfie sticks, sharp/large rings, smoke grenades, flares and fireworks.

Items will be confiscated and returned to you after the event, which may delay your access into and out of the arena.
